The Electronic Transactions Law 2004 was promulgated to encourage and facilitate use of electronic documents, signing of online contracts and transactions via online. The Electronic Transaction Central Body and the Electronic Transaction Control Board (Control Board) were formed to establish PKI system in Myanmar and to encourage use of digital certificates for online transactions and security.
Myanmar ICT Development Corporation Public Company Limited (MICTDC) was appointed by the Control Board to do as “Root Certification Authority (Root CA)” in Myanmar in 2008.
We was founded Root CA in 2008, and has been working maintain the repository of Digital Certificates, which contains all the certificates issued to the Certification Authorities (CAs) in Myanmar. We, company is the technical solution provider for Certification Authorities (CAs) in Myanmar and provides the technical solutions as well as policies and guidelines that they must follow when performing CA operations. Root CA was established to provide the technical assistance to Control Board and to promote the growth of e-Commerce and e-Governance through the wide use of digital signatures.
